Portland, Maine (September 3, 2024) – Peaks Renewables (Peaks), a subsidiary of Summit Utilities, Inc. (Summit), is pleased to announce an expansion of its leadership and project development team.

Lizzy Reinholt has been appointed as Senior Vice President (SVP) and Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Peaks. Reinholt will lead the company’s corporate strategy and investments in renewable gas projects across the country and manage the company's renewable energy development efforts. Additionally, Pervez Mohamed and Rob Quellmalz have joined the Peaks team as Project Developers, bringing extensive experience in renewable development across the gas and electric sector.

“We are thrilled to have Lizzy’s expertise and dedication to renewable energy on board at Peaks. Her leadership and deep industry knowledge will be instrumental in driving our growth and advancing sustainable energy solutions for our customers,” said Angus King III, President of Peaks Renewables. “As we continue to expand, we are excited to welcome Pervez and Rob to our growing team. Their expertise will be invaluable in managing our projects from inception to completion.”

Reinholt transitions to Peaks from her role as SVP of Corporate Affairs, Sustainability, and Marketing at Summit, where she has been a key leader since 2016. With a strong background in renewable natural gas, sustainability, and the utility industry, Reinholt was pivotal in the development, public outreach, and communication strategy for Peaks’ first renewable gas project in Clinton, Maine. The Clinton Community Dairy Digester is the first of its kind in Maine, producing renewable natural gas from more than five family-owned community dairy farms in central Maine.

Mohamed brings a wealth of industry knowledge to his new role at Peaks. Previously, he led the development of large wind and solar generation projects across the Midwest United States and has an extensive background in large industrial scale energy project development.

Quellmalz joins the Peaks team from Vanguard Renewables with a broad development background in a range of novel, industrial scale projects, where he has specialized in the successful implementation of renewable waste-to-energy technologies.

“Decarbonizing gas is critical as we work collectively across the country to achieve state and federal emissions reduction goals,” said Reinholt. “With a large portfolio of diverse renewable gas development projects across the country and a growing team, Peaks is uniquely positioned to help lead the way in developing carbon neutral and carbon negative gas to help achieve climate goals.”
